Foodpanda is an online food and grocery delivery platform owned by Berlin-based Delivery Hero. It is currently the largest food and grocery delivery platform in Asia.

Responsibilities
I was a part of the Subscriptions Foundation team, where I played a key role in the development and maintenance of our subscription service. 

• As a front-end engineer, developed and maintained back-office systems related to our subscription service. 
  
• As the lead engineer of multiple projects
  • Established development timelines. 
  • Clarified existing system designs and dependent services.
  • Engaged in discussions with stakeholders to analyze requirements and assess feasibility.
  • Created technical documentation to support the work of back-end engineers and designers.
  • Assisted designers in conducting usability testing and refined feature designs.
  • Created user manuals for stakeholders.
  • Organized internal sharing sessions to disseminate learnings and discuss the future directions for optimization.
    

Projects and achievements

• Took over the ownership of MMT (Marketing Management Platform), the operational platform of the subscription service. 
  • Clarified and tested all configuration details of subscription plans, created tickets to enhance UX and address system defects.
  • Introduced integration tests to cover crucial user flows.
  • Integrated a widely adopted design system tailored for the company's internal tools. 
    
• Took over the ownership of the subscription data query tool on our customer service platform, rebuilt and redesigned the whole tool based on user requirements.
• Led the development of new features and redesigns on MMT.
• Continuously adjusted and refactored our unit tests and integration tests architecture, boosting test coverage to 100%.
• Integrated React Query to enhance the data fetching mechanism. 
• Developed a VS Code CSS IntelliSense extension for the company's design system.

Projects and achievements

• Enhanced existing projects and proceeded with subsequent feature development
  • Continuously refactored and optimized legacy code.
  • Established a consistent data fetching and storage mechanism, utilized Redux to structure the front-end's local store, and handled asynchronous data flows through Redux Saga.
  • Gradually transitioned to GraphQL + Relay to further simplify API design and data caching mechanisms.
  • Replaced old CSS Modules with styled-components to better implement separation of concerns between styles and logic.
  • Implemented a testing framework using Jest + React Testing Library, wrote unit and integration tests.
  • Integrated pre-commit hooks to trigger ESLint checks before committing.
    
• Took over legacy projects from another team without prior separation of front-end and back-end, designed a refactoring process to gradually refactor the legacy code.
• Initiated the system design and development of a new project, Parent Console.
• Initiated the system design and development of a new project, Learning Center.
• Constructed a shared component library using Storybook.
