Real-time Basketball Offensive Action Recognition System Based on IMU Sensor

Best Poster Award of Taiwan Computer-Human Interaction Conference 2018

          Basketball offensive tactic training involves not only the practice of memorizing tactics trajectories but also making the correct choice of offensive action. In this system, we take advantage of the Noitom sensor, which can capture full-body motion trajectories of the user to detect and classify the user action. HTC Vive headset is used to present a 360 video of a basketball training scene, and the user has to make an action immediately according to the behavior of the defensive player in the 360 video. My partner and I collected about 300000 records from 10 subjects to train the recognition model, which is designed based on a deep neuron network. In the future, we will focus on supporting multiplayer mode and offering tactics editor to make the system more comprehensive and user-friendly.

Move Your Fingers: Eye-Hand Coordination Training App for the Elders

An Intelligent Medical Information System Implementation

       This is an application aiming to help the elders to improve their eye-hand coordination by playing games. There are two little games in this application: Connect the Dots and the Puzzle. This application will record the time spent per round of games and the number of steps used to solve the puzzle. The gaming records are analyzed and presented as a line chart for the medical staff to evaluate the progress of the user.

Earthquake Escape Training System in Virtual Reality

          This is a VR training system for Earthquake Escape in elevator and car. Taiwan is an earthquake-prone country; therefore, effective earthquake escape educations are essential. Most people know how to protect themselves in a standard room when an earthquake strikes, but do not know the escape guidelines when they are in unusual places like elevators and cars. My team developed a simulation system to teach users the correct earthquake escape steps in these situations. In this system, users can also prepare an earthquake emergency kit to learn what is necessary for earthquake escape. We used wearable interactive sensors attached to the user’s legs to detect the user’s action (e.g., stand/squats and step on accelerator/brake) to bring a more realistic training experience.

Pharmacist Training System in Virtual Reality

Cooperation Project with Department of Pharmacy, National Cheng Kung University

   This pharmacist VR training system is a project under the cooperation with National Cheng Kung University, Department of Pharmacy, Tainan, Taiwan. The system aims to save the space, human resources, and material resource cost of pharmacist training in the real world. In the VR simulator, the user needs to follow the standard operation procedure of dispensing (i.e., check the prescription and fill the order), and the simulator will report the correctness of the process and the time spent to provide a more natural way for evaluating the dispensing ability of a pharmacist.

LED Light Bulbs Panel Implementation Using PIC18F4520 and Raspberry Pi

          This project is an implementation of an LED panel. My team used blue and red LED bulbs to build a 27×27 panel and control the display of the panel through three PIC18F4520 microchips. We also implement a Tetris game in this project. Using Raspberry Pi, the player can connect to the server through Wi-Fi and use smartphones as controllers to play the Tetris game.

   To make the task of information searching more convenient, I developed a chat bot providing searching service with language choices. Moreover, this chat bot can recommend popular actors and works based on the ranking in IMDB.

Angry Bird

       In this project I completed the implementation of the famous game, Angry Bird. There are four kinds of birds, and three of them have special skills. The special skill of the yellow bird, the white bird and the green bird is speed up, free fall and size changing, respectively. Players can trigger the special skill by pressing the mouse.
