Conor Nolan
I’m a Mobile Engineer interested in two things: tackling complex, challenging problems and working with kind and talented people. I strive to never stop learning, and never shy away from difficult tasks.
I've recently completed an internship as an iOS Software Engineer @ Zendesk where I worked on both Apps and SDKs, reaching a huge number of users.
Work Experience
Zendesk, Software Engineer, Feb 2020 ~ August 2020
Worked on both the Zendesk Support App and Messaging SDKs, implementing production code. I worked with both Swift and Objective-C. Highlights included:
- Features and improvements such as swipe actions and dark mode support that enhanced the agent experience. Tacked a complex, legacy codebase in order to enable multi-user, multi-party conversation in Zendesk SDKs.
- Unit, UI and Regression Testing using XCTestCase, and Earl Grey.
- Using packages and distributing SDKs via Cocoapods/Carthage.
- Contributing to writing and grooming stories in Jira.
- Working with a GitFlow branching strategy, and helping review and implement designs with Abstract.
RAID Studios, Co-Founder & Engineer, Jun 2017 ~ Feb 2020
RAID Studios is a service provider to the games industry. To date, RAID has operated 18 live events, over 100 online events, and supports video game publisher to delight their audiences, reaching hundreds of thousands of players.
I previously lead both our web and broadcast team to develop custom broadcast graphic solutions in HTML, CSS, React and Firebase that dramatically increased quality of broadcasts for our clients.
Freelance Engineer, May 2017 ~ Feb 2020
Throughout and after university, I largely supported myself through freelance engineering work. Some examples of the work include designing and building websites for both individuals and corporates such as Vela Games (https://vela.games) using Wordpress and Javascript.
I also developed web-based graphics for broadcasting, that I was able to use in my own work and sell to third parties primarily using HTML, CSS, Javascript and React.
