Jon Cooper: ebbu Founder

Jon Cooper gained 20+ years of experience as a tech entrepreneur in marketing and sales before he entered the cannabis industry. He founded ebbu™, a disruptive company in the cannabis space that aims to create consistency among its products so that users can expect precise experiences or sensations every time. Since its founding, ebbu has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Bloomberg News, HBO Vice, PBS Newshour, Fast Company and many more.

After graduating in 1998 from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Political Science, Jon Cooper worked with Andersen Consulting and a start-up before eventually moving on to join the global strategy team at Level 3 Communications. Jon Cooper always had the ability to approach problems from a different direction and he enjoyed building things. Going forward, Jon Cooper believes his primary sources of revenue will be licensing formulations and genetics.

 Jon Cooper entered the cannabis industry in 2013.  Inspired by the recent legalization of recreational cannabis and wanted to tackle a lesser-known issue: the unpredictability of its effects. They started off small, setting up a lab and hiring five research scientists. Since then, ebbu has launched the most advanced scientific team and lab in the U.S. cannabis industry; they have already have filed more than 40 cannabis-related patents representing 1500+ inventions. ebbu’s technology platform is built on three pillars: transforming the cannabis product supply line with superior genetics, licensing their technologies to businesses around the world, and creating proprietary cannabis formulations. 

This multidisciplinary approach not only allows ebbu to thrive as a company, but to impact the industry on a larger scale. For example, ebbu’s patent-pending Genesis Aqueous Drops — created with lab-tested, clinically studied water-soluble cannabinoid technology — previously shook up the idea of edibles altogether: they could be added to just about any beverage.
