BuildDirect is a technology company, building open platforms for the home improvement and heavy weight freight industries. Our platforms enables home-owners and contractors to find the perfect product from a large online selection. Working to solve a heavy freight shipping issue that has plagued the industry and create a proprietary data-driven platform that benefits manufacturers, partners and customers alike.
Responsible for technical recruitment across the business, I focus on all aspects of sourcing, recruitment, branding and process throughout our hiring in Vancouver, Waterloo and Bangalore. I also work on improving our company recruitment and candidate processes, HR technology, co-op program, branding and events such as company run and hosted Meetups and Hackathons.
I continue to support the further organization in areas of both recruitment and HR business partnering, but remain focused in finding exceptional talent that is aligned with our culture and goals within our Software Engineering, Product, QA, Analytics, UX & Design, Infrastructure and Digital Marketing teams.

Held positions through management levels across Essex and London. Worked up from Sales Assistant, to Supervisor, Assistant Manager and then to Deputy Manager.
I started at De Montfort University studying Multimedia Technology, before changing to a new course after my first year. I then spent a year studying Music Technology before leaving due to financial and personal reasons. Even though I left university, I gained invaluable personal skills and life experience. I plan to go back into education studying a degree of some form part time in the future.
One project I completed in my time at BuildDirect was to build out a brand new platform for our Co-op program.
I looked at this to help improve our company branding, candidate experience and also provide a testing grounds for future employee engagement.
