To lay the foundation for a successful career, Michael Godwin joined Lock Haven University, where he earned a BS in health sciences. Subsequently, he received a post-graduate certificate in prosthetics in 2000 and a post-graduate certificate in orthotics in 2004 from Newington Certificate Program. Michael Godwin has over two decades of experience and is certified by the American Board of Prosthetics and Orthotics.
Michael Godwin started his career in 2000 as a prosthetist working for Harry J Lawall and Son in Philadelphia. He was responsible for designing and fitting artificial braces and limbs for patients. Michael Godwin also provided several nursing homes and hospitals with prosthetic and orthotic devices. After four years, he moved to Advantage O and P in Florence South Carolina where he worked as a CPO and clinic manager for two years.
In 2006, he went back to Harry Lawall’s for another 11 years in Philadelphia, where he was designing artificial limbs and braces for patients. In 2017 he became a part of the Hanger team and continues to work there today. . A firm believer in technological advancements, Michael Godwin keeps himself updated on all novel techniques in prosthetic and orthotic systems and uses the knowledge to design customized prosthetics and orthotics devices for individual patients.
He enjoys mountain biking, fitness, weight training, and spending time with his children during his free time.
