Nelson Lewis

Nelson Lewis is a media strategist who currently works in the Savannah area of Georgia. His main professional focus centers around Newsvesting, a firm that analyzes the impact news developments stand to have on investment markets. However, Nelson is perhaps best-known for his on-screen work on Bravo's Souther Charm Savannah and for his behind-the-scenes work as a booker for Fox News.

Nelson Lewis inherited his passion for conservative politics and monetarist beliefs from his grandfather and mentor, the late J. Curtis Lewis, Jr. The senior Lewis was elected mayor of Savannah in 1966, making him the first Republican mayor of a Georgia city since Reconstruction. As a noted visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist, the older Lewis was a great role model for Nelson, encouraging him to become actively involved with the Republican Party since he was in high school. In 2009, Nelson enrolled in the Masters in Journalism program in political journalism at Georgetown University and attended class on days off from Fox News Channel’s DC Bureau and in the evenings. 

In 2008, Nelson Lewis began a friendship with Barbara Gordon, a noted Washington arts patron. She shared his affinity for Latin American art and encouraged Nelson to become active in the DC arts scene. At the time, Ms. Gordon was the chairman of the Friends of the Art Museum of The Americas of The Organization of American States (OAS), and she appointed Lewis to the board that year, where he would go on to serve until 2011 as one of the youngest board members of the organization to date. His passion for both the Spanish language and Fernando Botero's art inspired his desire and commitment to promoting Latin American and Caribbean art in the United States and his commitment to serving the organization.
