The Micron IT Engineering Services (EngServ) team embraces the DevOps movement. We provide modern development infrastructure tools to hundreds of teams throughout Micron. The teams we empower work in every area of the company: engineering teams, IT teams and business teams. EngServ is helping to improve quality and catalyze development efficiency and effectiveness.
As a software/system engineer of the EngServ Operation team, we provide the following tools and solutions between Atlassian Jira (issue tracking, team planning, work management), Atlassian Confluence (wiki), Atlassian Bitbucket (Git repo hosting and code/branch management), Jenkins (continuous integration/delivery), Collaborator (code reviews), SonarQube (code reviews), qTest (test automation) , Artifactory (binary repository)
My responsibility includes but not limited to the following:
- Develop the process of regular maintenance/upgrades to minimize the impact to users
- Develop the process of DR to make sure we have a solid plan when a disaster came
- Develop automated deployment by Ansible, including package deployment, service refresh, and service deployment
- Constant application and add-on upgrades
- Automated monitoring to ensure stability and performance in all geographies
- Providing 24/7 uptime, urgent service request support and incident response
- Support customers to understand the best known practice
- Build the project in each tool with spec
Recently we had migrated our Jenkins server from on premise to Openshift cluster.
We built an IoT Gateway for Industrial. The background of this project is to have protocols like TR069, Modbus, MQTT, OPCUA, CoAP communicate from one to another. The platform we are using is MIPS, Linux base. The hardest part of this project is how we translate all the operations from one to another. Each protocol have their on prototype, data type and we have to tailored the data flow for each protocol in order to suit the requirement of this Multiple Protocol IoT Gateway for Industrial.
