Summary

Decode HR is a dynamic and innovative HR consultancy firm that has successfully established itself in existing markets. We are now seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead our expansion into Taiwan. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape our growth strategy in uncharted territory. The successful candidate will work closely with the Marketing, Engagement & Operations team in Taiwan and Singapore as well as our partners and broader ecosystem partners. The position requires a good understanding of human resources and excellent communication skills.

As a Business Development Manager, you have a strong entrepreneurial mindset and understand the importance of professional networking and presenting of new ideas. Reporting into the Managing Director, the Business Development Manager will identify C-Level decision-makers and senior HR leaders, build strong strategic relationships, become a trusted and valued partner and advisor to the client CXOs and key stakeholders.

Business Development Responsibilities

• Market Research: Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities and assess market dynamics, competition, and potential customer segments, developing knowledge capital and activities around pitches/RFPs, presentations.

• Market Entry Strategy: Develop a comprehensive market entry strategy, including market sizing, customer targeting, and pricing strategies.

• Partnership Development: Identify and negotiate partnerships, collaborations, and alliances that can accelerate our market entry and growth.

• Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, existing and new customers, and industry partners in the new market.

• Sales and Revenue Generation: Develop and execute sales plans and strategies to drive revenue growth in the new market, including setting ambitious sales targets and managing a sales team.

• Marketing and Branding: Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective marketing campaigns and branding strategies tailored to the newmarket.

• Market Trends: Seek to understand and interpret industry trends locally and internationally to strengthen the firm’s thought leadership, products and services.

• Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for market expansion initiatives, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources.

• Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports on market expansion progress, key performance indicators (KPIs), and market trends to senior management.

• Risk Assessment: Analyze potential risks and challenges associated with market entry and proactively develop mitigation strategies.

• Sales-ready: Develop sales-ready opportunities by qualifying leads and collecting information that includes business pains and data such as timelines; project teams, decision makers, budget and other competitive information.

• Lead Qualification: Follow-up on marketing-generated leads to qualify them in an efficient manner and ensure high translation of lead to revenue.

• Business Proposal Development: This would include conceptualisation of solutions and costing, supported by the Delivery & Operations teams.

Requirements

• Creative problem-solving skills; strategic, insightful thinking; client-focused perspective; ability to meet deadlines in compressed timeframe situations with attention to detail.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate market behaviour to business opportunities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills; comfortable with client site presence.

• Passionate, high-energy, self-starting entrepreneurial mindset; results-oriented.

• Minimum 6 years of experience in the human resources industry with responsibility of working with senior business leaders preferred.

• Prior business development experience is ideal but not a prerequisite.

• Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and navigate ambiguity.

• Degree holder proficient in Mandarin and English.

• Motivated to meet business financial targets.
