Intermediate Full-Stack (Ruby on Rails) Engineer

Faria was founded in 2006 to transition schools from paper onto a curriculum-focused learning platform. Today, Faria powers curriculum for over 10,000 schools & districts and 3 million students with a suite of 4 services. Faria’s multi-disciplinary team of over 150 operates globally, across 9 offices.

We develop on Ruby on Rails with excellent tools and full technical control. This role will be responsible for the development of new features and functionality for our revamped version of the company's in-house CRM platform. The platform consolidates CRM, billing, and provisioning functions on a single platform. Following the completion of the 6 month product roadmap for the CRM system, this role will be reallocated to our OpenApply admissions software product.

OpenApply is a modern online admissions office supporting every stage of the applicant journey from enquiry to enrolment. Our cloud-based interface works seamlessly across devices for both families and staff, streamlining the process and reducing stress. Today OpenApply supports over 450 schools in over 80 countries.

Responsibilities:

- New features development based on the provided specifications;
- Maintaining the existing applications (bug fixes, migration to new Rails versions, UI refresh);
- Interacting with the other teams (within the company and external) regarding the applications integration and API

Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience of RoR software development expertise;
- Ruby on Rails (versions 4 and 5);
- RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL is a plus);
- Frontend (HTML, CSS3, jQuery, CoffeeScript, SASS, Bootstrap);
- Background processing (DelayedJob, Sidekiq);
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, familiarity with the concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful;
- Automated testing (RSpec), continuous integration;
- English: Intermediate or upper, verbal and written
