Junior Systems Accountant
Summary/purpose of the position
Commonly known as a Business Analyst, this position has the fundamental function to support in providing the management with financial information relevant for decision making on all financial matters of the organisation. It is by using our financial systems and reporting tools, and through analytical skills that this position contributes in developing and implementing reporting cycles as well as information flow mechanisms that provide an accurate picture on Greenpeace East Asia’s financial resources and assets.
You would also be given a chance to be qualified as a professional accountant through meeting the practical experience requirement of CPA Program of CPA Australia, and also the opportunity to work in a multinational environment for we have offices in Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei and Beijing. And of course, you will have plenty of opportunities to get closely connected with our latest environmental protection movement.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in system maintenance and administration of various finance systems including Contracts Management System, eClaim and Payment System, Business Intelligence Reporting Tools amongst others, this includes but is not limited to: a) create new accounts for new budget holders and disable accounts for leaving staff, b) ensure budget code permissions for each budget holder are up-to-date, c) verify financial data on the dashboard is correct before publishing, d) troubleshoot any issues requiring communication with the software vendor.
- Answer user's enquiries for any issues from using our finance systems and to accordingly solve the issues raised.
- Assist in performing user acceptance tests for new finance systems and/or for system upgrades.
- Support the Finance team in compiling financial reports required by various internal stakeholders.
- Provide historic income and expenditure information, and compile departmental budgets to feed into the creation of future projections and development scenarios.
- Assist in automating unnecessary manual work process with the use of Excel / Access VBA macros, Access SQL or any other technologies.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in similar position, prefered but not a must.
- Certificate, technical diploma or degree holders in accounting, business, analytics, IT or related areas
- Knowledge and experience in VBA and MS Excel macros prefered, but not a must.
- Keen to understand and learn relational databases and SQL queries.
- Capable to communicate through clear and effective verbal and written English.
- A teamplayer in doing all kind of works and project
- Interest in NGOs, environmental protection, and identification with Greenpeace goals and supportive of Greenpeace values.
