Setting up and testing prototype equipment for electrical systems in the Rack, Power and Infrastructure (RPI) group. Evaluates, updates and tests firmware required to control RPI hardware. Reads and interprets schematics, printouts and specifications as needed to complete tests to determine the functionality of electrical circuitry and/or computer programs. Participates with engineers in the debugging and troubleshooting of new and existing products.

Responsibilities:

• Testing and troubleshooting products manufactured by OEM suppliers in the Rack and Power Infrastructure (RPI) group for the server industry.
• Products include: uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), power distributions units (PDUs), keyboard, video and mouse switches (KVMs), rack mount consoles and rack cabinets.
• Test Engineer with experience in deploying and testing UPSs and PDUs in a data center environment.
  

Education and Experience Required:

• Typically an Associate's degree or equivalent with 6+ years of experience.
• May include highly experienced individuals performing equivalent work who are non-degreed or degreed in an unrelated field.
• Experience working for, or working with, an OEM that manufactures UPSs or PDUs is a plus.
  

Knowledge and Skills:

• Advanced knowledge in the field of electronics technology and software.
