You will be part of an agile development team, building and working on enterprise grade software systems on top of the Oracle Java development stack.

RiskVal is headquartered in Princeton, NJ, but the position is hybrid to allow candidates the flexibility to work remotely.


Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain desktop and web-based business applications built on Java technologies.
  • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time.
  • Research and evaluate a variety of software products.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 Years of Java Experience: Proven experience developing applications using Java, including a deep understanding of core concepts and best practices.
  • Software Development: Strong software development skills, including design patterns, object-oriented programming, and modular code design.
  • Database Knowledge: Experience working with relational databases such as MSSQL or similar, including writing efficient SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
  • Team Lead Experience: Experience leading teams of 3-5 individuals, demonstrating effective leadership, delegation, and mentorship skills.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex technical problems and propose innovative solutions.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Code Quality: Strong emphasis on writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to changes.

Interview process

  • First Interview (Chinese):
    • The first interview will be conducted with our engineers based in Taiwan and will be conducted in Chinese.
    • This interview will include a Live Coding session where you will be given coding challenges to solve in real-time.
    • The purpose of this interview is to evaluate your coding skills and technical proficiency.
  • Second Interview (English) - New York Team:
    • The second interview will be conducted with the Hiring Manager and engineers from our New York team.
    • This interview will be conducted in English.
    • The interview will consist of the following components:
      • Live Coding session where you will be presented with coding problems to solve in real-time.
      • Conversations with other relevant stakeholders to assess your fit within the team and company culture.
      • The interview will encompass a mix of behavioral and technical questions to gauge your skills, experience, and alignment with our values.
  • Offer and Next Steps:
    • If you successfully pass the evaluation stages, we will extend an offer to you.
    • We will provide you with detailed information about the offered position, benefits, and other relevant details.
    • Upon accepting the offer, we will guide you through the onboarding process and provide any necessary information to help you smoothly transition into the team.
