We are looking for a highly experienced and knowledgeable engineer to join our Audio Recognition Team and help to work with complex problems and improve our industry leading Audio Recognition system and additional supplementary back-end systems.

You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our systems working with a complex stack of different languages & Architectures, ensuring that the system remains robust, up to date and constantly improving. There will also be significant scope within these tasks to develop new services / architecture as part of the role.

You will be working in a remote team of dedicated and intelligent engineers, as well as helping to mentor and guide some of the mid-level developers on their careers towards Seniority.

The job will have freedom to work on side projects on Fridays, meaning that only 4 days / week will be structured time, and will also start with 13 days of holiday allowance + national holidays. 

Due to the size of the company and Employment law in Taiwan, this position is only open to engineers who have the right to live & work in Taiwan. Syncopate Innovations will be unable to sponsor VISA or ARC at this time. The office language is English, so please do not apply if you are not comfortable consulting, documenting and conversing in English.

Responsibilities

• Consulting with other engineers to determine and refine objectives.
• Designing technical solutions to complex problems.
• Working with Linux administration and understanding hardware and networking issues.
• Understanding and debugging issues with existing systems.
• Transforming prototypes and research into robust and scalable solutions to business problems.
• Ensuring and improving accuracy of existing solutions.
• Building robust test suites and implementing CI/CD practices to deploy solutions.
• Understanding and maintaining Kubernetes architecture and pursuing best practice in DevOps.
• Running tests, performing statistical analysis, and interpreting test results.
• Documenting new and existing processes.
• Keeping abreast of developments in the field and sharing with Team Members

Requirements

• Master's degree or strong Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or a related field.
• At least five years' relevant industry experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Python or similar language required, C++ experience would be a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of software engineering frameworks, libraries, data structures, data modeling, and architecture.
• Extensive technical knowledge of DevOps processes, including CI, containerization and database technologies would all be a plus.
• Kubernetes experience.
• Superb analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Great communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities
• High Proficiency in English Language speaking and writing.
