Software Engineer/ Full Stack Web Developer

Job Responsibilities:

• Program a web application from the ground up using a Model View Controller framework (such as Ruby on Rails)
• Be in charge of deployment on a platform (Heroku, for example)
• Store logs and have monitoring to catch and fix all exceptions
• Monitor the platform’s performance, and implement techniques such as caching to improve performance
• Create and update the database configuration (such as PostgreSQL)
• Set up the front end of the application such that it is responsive to different resolutions and browsers (mobile, desktop, etc), implemented with JS frameworks (such as React)
• Set up the front end of the application such that it can handle asynchronous requests (such as AJAX)
• Implement standard security practices, such as storing password using Bcrypt, prevention of SQL injections, etc
• Write highly modular, commented, and maintainable code
• Work with interns and mentor and guide them

Requirements:

• Must have demonstrable experience with the above job responsibilities to a large or complete degree
• Computer Science degree (or similar) not required but recommended
• Must have full distributed version control knowledge (Git) and *nix command line tools
• Proficient in spoken and written English, other language(s) is a plus
