Andy Leeka

With two decades of experience as a healthcare executive, Andy Leeka serves as president and chief operating officer with the San Francisco-based medical insurance company Angle Health. In his previous (interim) chief executive director position, Andy Leeka oversaw the transformation of the Los Angeles Convention Center into a COVID-19 Medical Relief Center. In this mayor-appointed role, Mr. Leeka coordinated with law enforcement, medical, and local and state government officials. The end result was the creation of a 240-bed unit in a span of two weeks that effectively added significant health care capacity. Surge contingency plans additionally allowed for as many as 1,000 beds to be accommodated. From 1996 to early 2020, Mr. Leeka held responsibilities as president and CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. He was successful in turning an inner-city institution that ran a $15 million operating loss into a hospital with $318 million in annual revenue. Under Andy Leeka’s watch, the medical center was independently recognized by HealthGrades as “One of America’s 50 Best Hospitals.” It also received “Gold” level Eureka Award ranking from the California Awards for Performance Excellence.
