“Liberated Wisdom,” an 88-by-64-inch oil painting by Ari Glass. It is a new fixture at Pacific Tower in Beacon Hill.

The painter strives to capture light and color and to create something fresh, yet familiar for the viewer. Glass loves to paint outside and tries to do that as often as he can. 

This helps him keep his work spontaneous and energetic. Glass also tries to work quickly without putting unnecessary focus on superficiality. 

For him, a painting is an illusion that should entice the viewer and evoke feeling.

The King of the Jungle

Ari Glass is an American painter, designer and musician. He is born in 1989 in Seattle. Ari Glass attended art classes at Franklin High School and briefly studied graphic design at Seattle Central College, but otherwise has no formal artistic training.

He habitually uses gold paint in his works. His art paintings are often described as being inspired by fictional concepts of royalty (kings, queens and kingdoms). Besides working in the visual arts, he has also created a music EP, designed a clothing line (called Reverie) and was involved with the Graffiti Village Tour.

Glass received a GAP funding for his debut solo exhibition: "The Sun is Made of Gold" at Gallery 2312 in Belltown in 2015.

He creates gold-adorned paintings. As a traditional element repeated in history, gold represents royalty and divinity. For him, it is a spiritual thing.

Ari Glass shared his skills as an instructor to guide painters of all skill levels in crafting their art. He took a part of the Paint & Smoothies event in Seattle, which set its goal on bringing creativity to parks across the South End of the city, encouraging the community to embrace their unique identity and actualize their power for creating positive change. The event was part of Arts in Parks project, a partnership between Seattle Parks and Recreation and the City’s Office of Arts & Culture.
