Surgeoning provided Dr. Ofikwu not only the way, but also the means to build a life around his passion for helping people. Educated in Nigeria, he received the “Best Graduating Medical Student in Surgery” award in 2000. Surgeon resident in the same teaching hospital after house medical officer service. Dr. Ofikwu joined Harlem Hospital's Department of Quality Management in 2006 and served as Assistant Director until 2011. Later in 2015, he finished his general surgery residency at Harlem Hospital Medical Center, part of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons Dr. Ofikwu completed his surgical oncology residency at MSG. Cancer Center A colorectal surgery fellow at MSU's Ferguson Clinic, Dr Ofikwu A colorectal surgeon with Atlantic, Dr. Ofikwu then worked. Shore Surgical Associates in New Jersey until 2017 when it moved to Las Vegas. It is now called Global Surgical Solutions and Colorectal Surgical Associates of Nevada. He works for many hospitals in Southern Nevada. A reputation for taking on difficult situations that other surgeons would normally turn down gives him a competitive edge over his competitors. Doctor Ofikwu is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. A board-certified surgeon, Dr. Ofikwu is also a colon and rectal surgeon. And he's an ACS member. CEO Ryan Jensen of Desert Springs Hospital presented Dr. Ofikwu with the second quarter Service Excellence Award. Several of his articles in Surgery have been co-authored. He spends his spare time working on the Ofikwu Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to assisting low-income people with access to surgery and preventative treatment. He enjoys basketball and movies with his family. Enriching children's education and improving people's livelihoods are his main priorities. Since boyhood, Dr. Ofikwu has been drawn to helping others and witnessing them attain healthy, active lifestyles through cutting-edge treatment techniques.
