I had been working at Taiwan Navigation Co.,Ltd. as a third officer nearly 1 year and 5 months and second officer about 5 months on the CPC tanker. Duties: 1. Taking charge of mooring and unmooring operation. 2. Keeping of cargo watch in port thereby assisting in cargo operations. 3. Maintaining stability by carrying out ballast and de-ballasting operation. 4. Correction and maintenance of nautical publications. 5. Carrying out GMDSS daily, weekly and monthly test as well as all associated tests. 6. Maintenance and upkeep of all deck portable fire fighting equipment and lifesaving appliances. 7. Preparing schedules of training and drills under the guidance of chief officer. 8. Follow captain’s orders and assist in the navigation. 9. Maintenance, stowage and labelling of all flags, signaling apparatus and shapes.
