Over the course of 2021, undertook several consultancies with the ILO, including researching law and policy for a mainstay publication on social protection and rights for domestic workers and undertaking research and drafting to contribute to the 2022 General Survey.

Undertook systematic legal research for 189 countries on law and policy regarding paternity, parental, maternity and breastfeeding and care leave, pay and other social protections. Supervised two consultantants undertaking complementary research.  The research formed the basis of a mainstay ILO report 'Care at work: Investing in care leave and services for a more gender equal world of work' which was published in 2022.

Crafted the Gender and Social Inclusion Strategy for the Global Plastic Action Partnership (GPAP). I also drafted a guidance document for actors in the plastics value chain and plastics pollution action space on how to mainstream gender and human rights into their institutions and programs. The role includes advising National Gender Advisors on how to translate the global Gender Strategy into national-level action as well as supporting national level actions to assist informal waste-pickers to access social protection and decent work conditions.

Global Gender and Incusion Advisor

Co-developed standards and an assessment mechanism for mainstreaming gender, equity and human rights across the WHO. The standards will become mandatory in 2020. Co-developed and oversaw publication and national piloting (Nigeria and Tanzania) of a handbook for assessing barriers to accessing health services. Produced guidance for reporting to international human rights bodies on right to health issues. 

World Health Organization

Supervised and coordinated a team researching violence in the world of work to inform the International Labour Conference on the adoption of new international standards. Authored two Conference reports on law and practice in 80 countries regarding violence in the world of work and a summary of the responses from member States and employers' and workers' organizations as to the preferred content of a new international standard. Drafted a set of conclusions which formed the basis of the discussions  leading to the adoption of Convention No. 190,  Recommendation No. 206 in 2019.

The Changing Workplaces Review was a provincial government-led review of the changing nature of work. The review informed amendments to Ontario labour law. 

Authored three reports with recommendations on independent contractors, temporary work agencies and part-time work in order to Inform the Review on employment law and practice in other jurisdictions. The latter report formed the basis of a recommendation by the Review to introduce pay parity for full and part-time workers which led to a labour law amendment in Ontario in 2017.

Homuork is a company that designs e-learning courses for companies and universities.
 
Developed the content for and narrated a 25-module e-learning course for employees, management, and HR on gender equality and diversity in the workplace. The training was purchased by the largest bank in Spain to train its global workforce.

Drafted comments for the Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions (CEACR) and  Recommendations on how to effectively bring national legislation and policy in line with international standards with regards to C100 - Equal Remuneration Convention, 1951 and C111 - Discrimination (Employment and Occupation) Convention, 1958. Researched and co-authored a book examining trends in maternity and paternity leave law and policy in 185 countries.

Developed and helped implement an economic independence strategy for urban refugees in Dhaka to break an aid dependency cycle. The strategy was successful long-term and has been a source for local integration and economic independence for the community.
