INTRODUCTION

This is a sales analysis on a public dataset available in Kaggle. This dataset represents vending machine data from various locations in Central New Jersey. The locations include a library, a mall, office location and manufacturing locations. The owner is requesting to use of the data to understand trends, user behavior and overall preferences by consumers at different locations.

OVERVIEW

Along 8 months, There has been a continuous increasing trend for revenue, transaction, and quantity, up to decline in august

DETAILED ANALYSIS

There are four insights based on customer behavior, product, efficiency and location,

• Customer are buying more valued products over the time, especially credit card user. However most of the customer still paying in cash and peak day is at Tuesday-Thursday
• Guten plans become the top contributor. EP Library started recently but quickly overtook 2nd position. SQ Mall and Earle Asphalt is not performing over the time. 
• Food is the top revenue contributor, and has lots of product variation. With limited product variation, the highest turnover product is Monster Energy & Coca-Cola Zero Sugar in Carbonated
• BSQ Mall Vending Machine is the least efficient due to there are 2 devices and open from Monday to Sunday
