INTRODUCTION

This is a sales analysis on a public dataset available in Kaggle. #XYZ Company has approached with historical sales data and prior to the annual board meeting the data team is requested to prepare the overview of the company condition, proceed to find root cause of several issue and give recommendations to improve the performance of the company 

OVERVIEW

• Along 4 years, There has been a declining trend for revenue, and transactions, with very unstable growth and stagnant profitability
• There has seen a seasonality pattern that grows Revenue at the end of every year. However year 2012 was finally able to show growth after 2 years of consecutive decline

WHY DOES IT HAPPENED?

There are three changes throughout the year, they are Average Order Value (AOV), Price Group behavior, and Customer Segmentation.

• The average order value continue declining which means customer are buying less in each transaction
• Customers are buying fewer and cheaper product shown by unit prices 0-250 growing higher than > 250
• The segment Consumer and Home Office are declining. The segment Home Office used to be a Revenue contributor
