Neil Winterrowd
California-based Screenwriter
Since March 2022, Neil Winterrowd has worked with a major Hollywood studio to create comedy screenplays for television and film. His interest in comedy stems from his experience as a stand-up comedian when he was a student at the University of California, Berkeley. This new career path began after Neil received encouragement to reenter the comedy field from one of his fraternity brother's who currently runs a premier Hollywood studio.
Prior to this career change, Mr. Winterrowd previously worked in the financial sector. He formerly carried out responsibilities as the President (and Founder) of Annuity Investment Group, an investment brokerage firm based in Irvine, CA which specialized in annuities management . Prior to that, he served in Vice-President roles at Smith Barney in Long Beach, CA and Independent Advantage Financial & Insurance Services in Marina Del Rey, CA. Although Neil was a highly regarded expert in the annuities business for years (on a national level), unfortunately difficulties with severe untreated depression and a resulting life threatening opiate addiction derailed his career and led to his departure from the annuities sector.
After spending a year at the Serenity Lodge Lake Arrowhead rehabilitation facility in Lake Arrowhead, CA (2011-2012), Mr. Winterrowd became interested in supporting the drug-recovery program and helping other people currently battling similar experiences. Since 2012, he has used his story to inspire others attempting to overcome addiction and mental health challenges. He has often been a keynote speaker on these issues and continues to practice the art of "giving back."
In his spare time, Neil enjoys spending time with family & friends. His main hobbies include tennis, golf and he maintains a serious interest in the study of UFO's; he intends to participate in the 2022 MUFON International Symposium in Denver, CO (https://mufonsymposium.com).
