Today, driver-only journeys make up 62% of trips in the UK of any kind, and 88% of commuting trips (data.gov.uk, 2019). This causes congestion, which can lead to severe air pollution and stress. Connecting people to join shared rides can reduce the number of cars on the roads while allowing people to save on taxi fares.
The aim of the project was to help the client, Moses, find opportunities to join a shared ride. This problem was tackled from the perspective of 18-35-year-olds, split into two groups: tourists and commuters.
