My name is Heather Foster. I am aware that my experiences aren't what is normally seen on an MA's resume. I have taken any opportunities to learn and better myself and that has required some moving around in different environments. This has given me the ability to critically think, problem solve, and interact with all types of personalities. I am looking to settle down and find somewhere that I can work and truly be part of a team. I never learn to much and my experience does not interfere with anyone instructing or teaching me. I want to be part of something long-term and I want to be able to believe in what I am doing, while I am genuinely helping patients.
March 2023 - July 2023
I performed as a medical assistant. This job included the basic responsibilities of a Medical Assistant like: getting vitals, rooming patients, getting patient history, drawing blood, giving injections, refilling prescriptions, patient referrals, etc.
October 2022 - February 2023
I performed as a medical assistant. This company was completely digital and there was little patient interaction that wasn't via text. Vitals and histories were obtained for patients face-to-face and then any testing or blood draws were completed.
February 2018 - November 2019
As the program coordinator, I was responsible for completing the educational program that produced medical assistant/phlebotomists. Due to my experience, I am able to teach any course or skill, while also remaining up to date on my own skills. I assisted students with learning concepts and sometimes that meant thinking outside of the box. Social skills were also a large part of the job and I am proud of the students that I helped produce and believe that they are the best.
December 2014 - February 2018
With this company, I was responsible for all the training. I started with the new employees and went through a lot of state-required training during employment. I was required to be certified to teach many subjects and was educated enough in them to teach an impromptu course at any time. I also helped observe and coach employees on strengths and ways to improve. All state and federal regulations were also my responsibility to keep track of and be able to provide, as needed. OSHA training was included in this.
August 2013 - December 2014
I was responsible for putting the entire training program together and then implementing it. Protocols and standards were developed from this training. I was also the person that produced any graphics and training materials.
April 2007 - May 2013
As the program coordinator, I was responsible for completing the educational program that produced medical assistant/phlebotomists. Due to my experience, I am able to teach any course and, therefore, able to keep my own skills up to date.
