With nearly a decade of proven leadership and program management, and with a background in rhetoric, pedagogy, and public health, my strengths and passions position me to excel in areas such as public speaking; program design, management, implementation, and evaluation; data analysis; knowledge translation; talent development; as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
2015-present
Liberty Resources, Inc. is a not-for-profit, consumer-controlled organization that advocates and promotes independent living for all people with disabilities. As a Center for Independent Living, Liberty Resources advocates with people with disabilities, individually and collectively, to ensure civil rights and equal access to all aspects of life in the community. During my tenure, I rose from Executive Assistant, through the ranks of Staff Trainer to Staff Engagement and Development Specialist, and finally to lead the Quality Management department.
I am responsible for establishing and overseeing the administration of the Office of Compliance and Quality Assurance. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
I played an integral part in identifying and implementing methods to better engage our workforce to improve productivity and produce better outcomes. I improved our internal agility to adapt to change and continue to lead our training efforts. And, proudly, it was during this period, I co-founded the DEI Staff Advisory Committee.
I trained all new hires in organization procedures, values, culture, DEI and cultural competency, and the Disability Rights/Independent Living Movement. In 2018, I founded the Staff Wellness program, successfully launched an adaptive yoga and circuit training program, as well as regular wellness seminars for both staff and consumers.
As the right hand of several executives, including the CEO, I filtered and managed the day-to-day demands of department heads. Necessary strengths include communication, organization, discretion, along with Big Picture thinking while attending to detail.
In the years prior to my tenure at Liberty Resources, I engaged in various advocacy, wellness initiatives, and community engagement initiatives.
PhillyCAM is a community media center that brings together Philadelphians to make and share media that promotes creative expression, democratic values and civic participation. In 2020, I was the first DEI Officer nominated to the Board.
